Though Telangana TDP MLA Revanth Reddy succeeded in getting bail from the Hyderabad High Court, he could not walk out of the Charlapally jail, where has been lodged since his arrest on May 31, due to some technical hitches in having the formalities completed for his release.
Soon after news about Revanth Reddy getting bail spread like wild fire, his supporters and TDP cadre in hundreds from the city as well his Kodangal constituency thronged the jail awaiting his release. The area outside the jail reverberated with celebrations as the TDP cadre burst crackers and played drums and danced in gay abandon.
However the celebrations ended in an anti-climax as Revanth Reddy and the two others could not get released due to some technical hitches.
In the beginning there was a delay at the ACB court as the judge insisted that the original bail order be submitted instead of a photocopy for the issuance of the release orders to the jail authorities. When this procedure was complied with, there were other formalities to be completed like the depositing of the security amount with the investigating officer. These could not be completed before the stipulated working hours for the day.
The advocates representing Revanth Reddy and others will now be completing the formalities on Wednesday, and only after that is the release expected.
Though disappointed, the TDP workers decided to mobilize more persons to accord Reddy a grand reception as he stepped out of the jail. (NSS)
