The efforts of Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao to secure investments for the state on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum summit in Davos seem to be fructifying as noted business house Tech Mahindra agreed to set up a centre in Warangal, and other global companies evinced interest in doing the same.
Tech Mahindra Chairman Anand Mahindra would soon hold a meeting with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, too, said KTR.
The visit of the IT minister is so far looking promising as he has met representatives of noted companies including CA Global CEO Mike Gregory, Pfizer Vaccine president Susan Silberman and Aerospace giant Lockheed Martin's Executive Vice-President Richard Ambrose, as also Bulgarian Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova and others, separately, at the Telangana pavilion at the Davos summit.
As a result of the talks, Gregory promised to give priority to Hyderabad in CA Global's business expansion program, and Silberman promised the same after KTR informed her that nearly 25% of the vaccines used at the national level were produced in Hyderabad which was one of the biggest vaccine manufacturing hubs in the country.
He also asked the Bulgarian Tourism Minister to help set up partnerships between her country and the state to help nurture start-up companies, and in the innovation and tourism sectors.
KTR also met with delegates of other noted companies including Trina Solar, Philips and the Abraj group, as also those of Indian business houses the Tata group, Bajaj, Hero and Kotak Mahindra.
