Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu warned, on Thursday, that his party would seek legal recourse, right up to the Supreme Court level, if the government fails to keep its promises on the fee reimbursement scheme.
The former chief minister was speaking after staging a dharna at the District Collector's office, demanding that the government clear the fee reimbursement arrears in Srikakulam district.
Naidu also warned the government that his party would intensify its agitation over the non-clearance of fee reimbursement arrears if the government does not make an announcement over the issue soon.
The TDP chief told the media, on the 3rd day of his tour to the district, that his party would fight for the rights and welfare of students of the state.
Naidu advised the students not to resort to any extreme step in despair over their fees not being reimbursed as promised by the government.
Naidu also accused the government of failing miserably on all fronts. He said that widespread and unchecked corruption was ruling the state. The TDP chief also said that the government has failed to prevent losses of thousands of crores of rupees incurred by illegal mining, and by corruption in the various irrigation projects under Jalayagnam.
The TDP chief said that if the government managed to curb corruption, then raising funds for schemes like fee reimbursements would not be a problem.
