TDP Slams GHMC's Horticulture Wing
TDP slams GHMC's Horticulture Wing by pointing out that the latter was delaying the planting of trees in public places, even when the season is favourable for it.
Hyderabad | 15th July 2013
On Monday, the TDP floor leader in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Singireddy Srinivas Reddy, criticised the Horticulture Wing of the GHMC for not initiating the process of plantation of trees.
In a representation made to GHMC Commissioner M T Krishna Babu, the TDP leader said that the Horticulture Wing should have started the process of tree plantation on either sides of main roads, lanes, by-lanes, and in residential colonies.
"This is the right time and it's also the suitable season to sow the seeds of the plants.
"However, GHMC's Horticulture Wing is yet to initiate the appropriate action in this regard. Are they planning to commence the plantation after the monsoons are gone?" Reddy demanded.
Singireddy asked the Commissioner to sanction funds so as to enable all the corporators to sow seeds on all the roads, lanes, and by-lanes in their respective wards. (INN)
