Andhra Pradesh TDP official spokesperson Mallela Linga Reddy today alleged that former united AP chief minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy were responsible for the "illegal" irrigation projects being constructed by the Telangana government.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Linga Reddy pointed out that during the previous Congress regime GOs were released for the Palamuru-Rangareddy and Dindi lift irrigation projects.
"Is it not the Congress party which indirectly gave permission for the construction of these illegal projects? Isn't Raghuveera Reddy, who was a minister in the then Congress government, responsible for the state of affairs today? Andhra Pradesh is facing unprecedented problems after the bifurcation of the united State due to the misdeeds of the Congress government when late YSR and Kiran Kumar Reddy ruled the State," he said.
Questioning the propriety of the "mahadharna" organized by the Congress, the TDP leader alleged that GOs were released hastily for these projects without permissions being taken just so Congress leaders could amass money.
He alleged that the dharnas being organized by Raghuveera Reddy were just to cover up his misdeeds because when the Kiran Kumar Reddy government issued the GO for the Palamuru project, the former was a minister in the cabinet.
Linga Reddy asserted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was working to protect the interests of the State without any compromise.
