The Telugu Desam Party, on Tuesday, decided to conduct the Mahanadu, the party's annual conclave, in May 2013.
In a meeting at NTR Trust Bhavan, the TDP decided to cancel the Mahanadu scheduled to be held this year, and to convene it the next year in the month of May.
Earlier, the Telugu Desam politburo had decided to postpone the Mahanadu, scheduled from 27 to 29 May, till the by-elections were over. The decision was taken in view of the party leaders' pre-occupation with the by-elections for 18 Assembly segments and one Lok Sabha seat.
Tuesday's meeting also focused its attention on rejuvenating the party for the 2014 general elections. As part of the party's revamp, it has been decided to conduct organisational elections for gram and ward committees from 20 to 30 July.
The elections for mandal committees will be held from 5 to 20 August, and those for the district committees 20 to 30 August.
The party has also decided to strengthen its committees and wings. (INN)
