Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh K E Krishnamurthy on Monday announced that the Telugu Desam Party would not field any candidate in the by-poll for the Allagadda Assembly constituency.
Speaking to media persons, Krishnamurthy announced that his Party had taken the decision respecting the practice of not fielding candidates in case of the demise of the incumbent MLA.
It may be recalled that the YSR Congress Party had not fielded any candidate in the by-election for the Nandigama Assembly constituency necessitated by the death of the TDP's MLA-elect T Prabhakar Rao.
The by-election for the Allagadda seat was necessitated by the death of YSRCP leader Bhuma Shoba Nagireddy in a road accident.
The YSRCP has fielded her daughter, Bhuma Akhila Priya, as the Party's candidate for the by-polls.
The by-election in Allagadda will be held on November 8, and the result will be declared on November 12. (INN)
