Goud Predicts TRS-Congress Merger

Senior TDP leader Devender Goud raises doubts regarding the durability of the TRS, and predicts that KCR will merge his party with the Congress soon.
Hyderabad | 21st March 2011
Senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader from Telangana Devender Goud on Sunday alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao had mortgaged the interests of the Telangana people, and had turned the separate statehood agitation into a 'salable commodity'.

Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan, the Telangana leader also alleged that the TRS has politicized the agitation by provoking students to commit suicides.

Spewing venom at the TRS chief, Devender Goud further alleged that "KCR has encashed the sacrifices of the students, and others who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana, to get political mileage."

Casting doubts on the durability of the TRS, the senior TDP leader predicted that KCR will merge his party with the Congress after milking the Telangana sentiment dry.

Reacting on KCR suspending 3 MLAs from the party for resorting to cross-voting during the Legislative Council elections, Devender Goud stated that 2 other MLAs had also resorted to cross-voting.

He demanded that KCR reveal the names of the people behind the cross-voting, and how much money was offered to these people.
