Former MLA Chintala Ramchandra Reddy has been suspended from the Telugu Desam Party after he called on YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at Chanchalguda Jail.
Chintala, who had earlier represented the Vayalpad constituency in Chittoor district, had been considered a rival to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who also hails from the same district. He also contested 2009 elections against Kiran Kumar Reddy as the Praja Rajyam candidate. However, he returned to the TDP fold later.
Chintala was reportedly unhappy with the behaviour of other TDP leaders towards him. Therefore, he decided to join the YSR Congress. However, before his formal exit, he was suspended by the TDP after he met Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that two TDP MLAs of Chittoor district - Praveen Kumar Reddy and Amaranath Reddy - have already joined the YSR Congress party. (INN)
