Telangana Minister for Animal Husbandry and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav today condemned as baseless remarks made by AICC General Secretary Digivijaya Singh that he (Talasani) was involved in the Miyapur land scam that ran into hundreds of crores.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat today, the minister slammed Singh's comments and said that he would file a defamation case against him for Rs 10 crores.
"I will file a criminal case against the Congress leader at the Mahankali police station," the minister said. "It is not right for Singh, who was a Chief Minister and a central minister in the past, to make such bad and meaningless comments. Since he made defaming remarks against me and my family members, I will be filing defamation and criminal cases against him."
"For the past 25 years I have been in politics and I have a clean image, and the people are very much aware of this," he claimed. "Singh made the comments just to get mileage and defame the TRS government."
He also said that AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had no right to charge KCR with imposing family rule on the state. It was the Congress party that indulged in family rule for several decades, he said. KCR and his family members had participated in the 14-year-long battle for statehood and became leaders with the blessings of the people, he said.
The minister also asked the Congress leaders to come for a debate on the developmental programs implemented in the last three years.
