Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao, on Friday, said that he would lodge a complaint with Assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar, over the registration of a case against him at Punjagutta police station.
Talking to media persons, he alleged that West Zone deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Stephen Ravindra insulted Telangana leaders when they were staging a dharna at Vidyut Soudha over the power crisis. He said that suspects the hand of Seemandhra leaders behind the police cases.
He alleged that Stephen Ravindra has been discriminating against Telangana leaders, even as he "laid out a red carpet" when Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal visited the RTA office recently.
It may be recalled that Harish Rao had allegedly assaulted an inspector of the Central Crime Station, and abused DCP Stephen Ravindra, during the TRS' protest at Vidyut Soudha. The police booked a case against the MLA under Section 353, on the charges of "assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging his duties".
Taking a serious note on Harish Rao's derogatory remarks, the AP IPS Officers Association, too, has sought serious action against the Siddipet MLA. (INN)
