Swachch Bharath Abhiyan Flags Off In Hyderabad
The Centre's Swachch Bharath Abhiyan in Hyderabad was started today by the GHMC at Kachiguda and along the Necklace Road in Hyderabad.

After flagging off the Swachch Bharath campaign at the Kachiguda railway station and along the Necklace Road in Hyderabad today, city Mayor Bonthu Rammohan today exhorted the people of the city to help make it clean and green.
"We are taking various measures that are used internationally, including solid waste management, to clean the city's growing piles of solid waste. 2,000 auto-trolleys have been deployed to collect waste from garbage dumps along roads, besides giving 44 lakh dustbins for the segregation of wet and dry garbage," he said.
Under the campaign, the GHMC was also taking up a sanitation drive from the gates of the Hyderabad Central University to Gopanapalli Tanda. Several students, members of various NGOs and NCC cadets, and the general public participated.
Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, MLA A Gandhi and others also participated in the program.
Transport Minister Mahender Reddy, who was also present in the campaign, said that the State government was taking various measures to provide potable water to the people living on the outskirts of the city. He added that all households in the city would get safe drinking water within the next two years under the drive.
