The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) said that it would give incentives to the people who helped it in executing sanitation and other cleanliness drives, through a draw.
In a press note, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said that incentivizing workers and civilians with gifts would boost cleanliness activities and help the municipal corporation in realizing its vision of a clean and green Hyderabad.
He said that the gifts - cash or gold - would be given to the winners through local business centers, and corporate, private and voluntary organizations. The Commissioner also said that the GHMC was inviting the institutions to come forward to sponsor the gifts.
The GHMC provided 44 lakh dust bins to 21 lakh households to separate wet and dry waste. The GHMC also provided 2,000 auto tippers to the sanitation staff to shift garbage to transfer stations.
The Commissioner said that the municipal body spent huge amount of money on dust bins and auto tippers, and in the process initiated steps to utilize these facilities by the people in proper way.
He called upon eminent business establishments, corporate, private and voluntary organizations, and individuals and colony welfare associations to come forward and become its partners by sponsoring the incentives.
