The Supreme Court today directed YSR Congress Party MLA R K Roja, who was suspended from the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for one year, to tender an apology for her unruly behavior in the House.
The apex court took up the suspension case of Roja today, and directed both the parties - the Assembly authority and Roja - to resolve the issue amicably. The court said that the Assembly had the ultimate authority to take a final decision on the suspension of an MLA.
The court also asked Roja to tender her apology by Friday by writing a letter to the AP Assembly Speaker, and said that if she failed to apologize, it would then take a decision in this regard.
The court adjourned further hearing in the case to Friday.
