SMC To Inform Parents Of Child Worker
The State Minorities Commission issues directives that the parents of the child workers picked up during child labour raids must be informed of their children's wher
The State Minorities Commission has directed the Labour Department to do an on-the-spot panchanama in the presence of locals, and inform parents before the officials pick up children during anti-child labour raids.
The Commission issued these directions following the submission of petitions from parents whose children had been picked up by the Labour Welfare officers when they were employed as labourers in various organisations.
The parents claimed that they had not been intimated when their children had been taken away. The Commission swung into action as most of the children belong to the minority community.
Joint Commissioner of Labour Welfare Department, Dr Gangadhar, has reportedly admitted before the Commission that the children were being kept at the Government Children's Home for Boys at Sayeedabad. (INN)
