State, Centre Have Failed: BJP
BJP state president G Kishan Reddy accused the state and the Central governments of having totally failed on all fronts, including corruption and terrorism.
Bharatiya Janata Party state president G Kishan Reddy on Friday accused the state and the Central governments of having totally failed on all fronts including corruption and terrorism in various states.
Talking to media persons at the party office after his return from the USA, Kishan Reddy alleged that neither government has acted responsibly in dealing with corruption and terrorism.
He wanted to know why the Centre is not taking steps towards the arrest of Dawood Ibrahim, who is involved in several criminal cases, on the lines of American government, which killed Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden for his involvement in destroying World Trade Centre.
He also said that Telugu people in the US have never objected to the idea of 2 Telugu-speaking states, and said they have the government to resolve the sensitive Telangana issue in an amicable way.
Kishan Reddy said he had consultations with the Indian Embassy in the US over the visa-fraud charges leveled against 2,000 students from Andhra Pradesh, at the University of Northern Virginia at Annandale.
He assured the students that he would represent to the Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj and senior leader Arun Jaitley and request them to raise the issue of safeguarding the interests of students with External Affairs Minister S M Krishna.
He criticised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his "failure" to solve people's problems, including the Telangana issue and the deletion of Clause 14 F of the Presidential Orders.
Kishan Reddy alleged that except for writing letters, the Chief Minister has not taken any real initiatives.
He condemned the state government for invoking the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) on Telangana employees who are agitating for statehood.
Reacting to Speaker Nadendla Manohar rejecting the resignations of Telangana elected representatives, he said that the party would convene a meeting soon to discuss the issue. (INN)
