Hailing the recommendations offered by the
Justice B N Srikrishna Committee Report, the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) President, Chiranjeevi, appealed to the public and political leaders on Friday to observe restraint until the centre took a final decision on the issue of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Chiranjeevi said that the party's stand on the contentious issue of the bifurcation of the state had been reflected in the panel's report.
Talking to media persons after the party's executive meeting held to discuss the recommendations of the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee's report at its office in Jubilee Hills, the PRP chief said that the recommendations given by the panel are impartial and transparent. He stressed on the importance of a united Andhra Pradesh, and said that an integrated state would protect the interests of its citizens better than a bifurcated one.
Stating that the panel's recommendations were fair, Chiranjeevi said that the party MLAs would stand by them.
Reacting to the parties opposing the panel's recommendations and terming them as unworthy, the PRP chief said that one should look at the options given to the centre in an open manner and with a broader outlook.
He also condemned the attack on the party MLA Anil by pro-Telangana activists at the Maha Dharna held at Indira Park called by the political joint action committee.
Chiranjeevi has asked all parties to observe restraint and to refrain from violence which would create law and order problems.
