The Special Task Force team set by the Union Home Ministry, to study the division of assets, possible impact on security, law and order situation, and other issues that may arise after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, continued deliberations on the third consecutive day on Thursday.
Security Advisor to the Ministry of Home Affairs and STF head K Vijay Kumar on Thursday met Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty at the State Secretariat, and discussed various issues related to the bifurcation of state.
Speaking to media persons later, Vijay Kumar said that security forces in Andhra Pradesh were capable and successful in maintaining peace, and law and order in the state.
During his visit, he said, the STF has studied how the security, and law and order could be maintained in both the states after division of AP.
He added that views have been taken from senior officials, and heads of different departments, in relation to several issues like distribution of assets, naxalism, terrorism and other related issues.
Vijay Kumar said that he would submit his report to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana in the next 3-4 days. (INN)
