The eighth session of the third Telangana Legislative Assembly and the 26th session of the Telangana Legislative Council are scheduled to begin tomorrow at 11:45 am coinciding with the unveiling of the Telangana Thalli statue in the Assembly premises.

A significant event marking the sessions will be the inaugural address by the new Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to the Assembly.

Both legislative bodies will commence their proceedings with the Governor's address.

The State government intends for the sessions to last for ten days.

In preparation for the sessions, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy convened a preparatory meeting today. Held in the Committee Hall of the Assembly building, the meeting involved senior State government officials and high-ranking police officers to review the logistical, amenity and security arrangements.

Those present included Deputy Council Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj, Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhar Babu, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Legislative Council Secretary V Narasimha Charyulu, Assembly Secretary Rendla Tirupati, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and DGP Shivadhar Reddy.

During the meeting, the Speaker spoke about the need for continued full cooperation from the State government and officials, similar to the support extended in the past.

He also said that the Budget Session was of paramount importance, and that a peaceful environment, both within and outside the legislative chambers, was crucial for its smooth conduct. He stressed the need for stringent precautions to prevent any untoward incidents or undesirable situations, ensuring that neither the government nor the Legislative Assembly faced disrepute.
