The Special Investigation Team appointed by the Telangana government to probe the killing of five undertrials in an "encounter" at Alair of the Nalgonda district on April 7, has begun investigations into the encounter.
The SIT, under the leadership of IPS officer Shah Nawaz Qasim, met on Thursday. The team discussed the plan of investigation to be followed, and has formed four teams to carry out various parts of the investigation.
One team visited Warangal, and another team was sent to Nalgonda for collecting evidence, material objects and other documents which would be relevant to the investigation.
It was decided that the SIT would meet regularly and meticulously investigate the case by collecting material evidence and examining the documents and witnesses. (INN)
