Sharmila Should Shift Her Political Base To AP: BRS

BRS MLC Kadiyam Srihari suggested that YSR Telangana Party president Y S Sharmila shift her political base to Andhra Pradesh from Telangana.

Speaking to the media, the BRS leader said that it was very unfortunate that Sharmila was criticising the Telangana budget.

"Sharmila's entire family, including her father and late former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, and her brother and current Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, had worked against statehood for the Telangana region. When Jagan Mohan Reddy was in the jail in connection with the disproportionate assets case, Sharmila undertook a padayatra in the combined Andhra Pradesh and clearly that stated her party was against statehood for the Telangana region," he said.

He asked Sharmila not to waste her time by practising politics in Telangana as nobody here cared for her party or believed her words on Telangana.

"Sharmila should stop her ongoing padayatra in Telangana and shift her political base to Andhra Pradesh as there will be a bright future to her there even if her brother Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy goes to jail again in connection with the corruption cases," Srihari added.

The former Deputy Chief Minister also criticised the union government for failing to allocate funds for the development of Telangana.
