Will Protest Against Cases On Farmers: Shabbir Ali
The Telangana Congress would stage a dharna before the CM's office if cases were booked against the farmers who protested in the Medak district, he warned.
Deputy CLP leader in the Telangana Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday warned of protests if the Telangana government registered cases against the farmers who protested in the Medak district yesterday.
He was speaking to media persons after visiting the farmers, who were injured due to a police lathi charge on NH-44 near Narsingi at Chegunta mandal in the Medak district on Monday.
Accusing the TRS government of using force to suppress the farmers' protests against erratic power supply, Shabbir Ali warned the government against registering any cases against farmers.
He said that the Telangana Congress would stage a dharna before the camp office of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao if cases were booked against the farmers.
Shabbir Ali alleged that by resorting to the brutal lathi charge, the State government was trying to instill fear among farmers in order to prevent them from holding protests in future.
He said that the government's failure in implementing the promise of loan waiver and its inability to supply power to the farmers would certainly result in outbursts of anger. Instead of finding means to suppress the agitations, the government should start addressing the real concerns of the farming community, he demanded. (INN)
