The Hyderabad and Cyberabad police have registered seven criminal cases against principal accused in the note-for-vote case and Telangana TDP MLA Revanth Reddy for taking out a rally without police permission and making threats while brandishing lethal weapons.

Two cases were registered in the Kushaiguda police station and one each in the Malkajgiri, Osmania University, Chikkadpally and Banjara Hills police stations under penal sections 341, 188, 506, 509.

Police said that after his release from the Charlapalli central jail on bail on Wednesday, Reddy took out a rally without police permission and made a provocative speech threatening to dislodge the TRS government from power, and also threatened unidentified people swinging an axe.

Revanth Reddy, after his release from jail on bail, went on a procession and made speeches attacking the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues. (NSS)
