Ex-Bhadrachalam MLA and prominent CPI(M) leader Sunnam Rajaiah died of Covid-19 today.
He was 60.
He had been suffering from dengue for some days, and was diagnosed with Covid yesterday. He was undergoing treatment at a Vijayawada hospital when he passed away.
Rajaiah was a tribal leader and 3-time MLA. He was known for his simplicity and unassuming nature, and had friends spanning the political pantheon. It was no surprise then that several top leaders condoled his demise.
Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao said that Rajaiah worked to solve people's problems his entire life, and would be remembered by them as a rare political leader who led a simple life. The CM conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
Ministers Harish Rao, E Dayakar Rao, Indrakaran Reddy and Puvvada Ajay Kumar, BJP leader D K Aruna, and CPI leaders Chada Venkat Reddy, Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, Aziz Pasha and K Sambasiva Rao also conveyed their condolences.
