Freedom Fighter Mallu Swarajyam Passes Away At 93
Telangana Rythanga armed struggle fighter, CPI-M Central Committee member, former MP and former MLA Mallu Swarajyam breathed her last yesterday.

Telangana Rythanga armed struggle fighter, CPI-M Central Committee member, former member of the Rajya Sabha and former MLA Mallu Swarajyam, 93, breathed her last in Care Hospital, Banjara Hills, on Saturday.
The mortal remains of Swarajyam were shifted to the party office M B Bhavan for the citizens to have last glimpse of the departed leader.
The body will later be shifted to Nalgonda, and finally handed over to the Medical College after 3:30 pm after the last journey.
A bevy of leader condoled the demise. Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao paid floral tributes to Swarajyam. He recalled that Swarajyam had dared the erstwhile Nizam regime during the armed struggle, and had worked with Chakali Ilamma in Palakurthy, Devulapalli Venkateshwara Rao, Puchchalapalli Sundarayya, Bheemreddy Narasimha Reddy and other freedom fighters.
MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha too visited M B Bhavan and paid her tributes. Swarajyam was the first woman in the Telangana region to handle a gun and had earned fame for that, Kavitha said, and consoled the family members of the leader.
CPM Telangana secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and several other party leaders also offered floral tributes to Swarajyam.
