Telangana Jagruti president K Kavita on Tuesday warned Seemandhra leaders against holding their conference in the city on January 17.
It may be mentioned here that Congress legislators from the Rayalaseema and the Andhra regions have planned to hold a meeting at Ministers' Quarters on Thursday at 11am, to discuss the strategy to stall the formation of a Telangana state.
However, talking to reporters, Kavitha "warned" the Seemandhra leaders of "dire consequences" in case the meeting is held in Hyderabad, saying that it could hurt the sentiments of people in the region.
Kavitha also accused Infrastructure Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao of trying to provoke the sentiments of the people of Telangana by organising a meeting on the united state issue in the state capital.
She expressed confidence that the dream of a Telangana state would be realised soon, despite the "hurdles" being created by Seemandhra leaders. (INN)
