Congress MLA K Lakshma Reddy, on Tuesday, demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy convene a meeting of the state cabinet to discuss the ongoing chaos in the state.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, Lakshma Reddy also said that ministers must be sent to their respective districts and be given the responsibility to restore normalcy.
The Medchal MLA even suggested that that ministers who refuse to follow his orders must immediately be dropped from the state cabinet.
It may be mentioned here that the state cabinet is currently divided on regional lines. Ministers from the Telangana and Seemandhra regions have not been getting along well ever since the Congress Working Committee announced its
decision to bifurcate the state on July 30.
So far, 13 ministers from the Seemandhra region have resigned from the state cabinet. Although their resignations are yet to be accepted, Lakshma Reddy's demand for a cabinet meeting appears like a challenge for the Chief Minister to prove that he still heads the state government. (INN)
