Hyderabadi sportswoman and India's top female badminton player Saina Nehwal added yet another feather to her crown when she clinched the Singapore Open early on Sunday.
Saina was in tremendous form, taking only 33 minutes to bulldoze Chinese Taipei's Tzu Ying Tai in straight sets at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The scoreline at the end of the encounter read 21-18, 21-15 in Saina's favour.
The top seed Saina later said that she had not expected to reach the finals of the tournament, with two good Chinese players in the draw.
She attributed her success on Sunday due to the Indian Open Grand Prix Gold title win last week. The world Number 6 had won the Indonesian Open last year, her maiden Super Series title.
There were some nervous moments for Saina's fans during the first game when she lagged behind her opponent with the scoreline reading 8-14. But as the match progressed, Saina opened up and proceeded to overcome the initial advantage taken by her rival.
The Hyderabadi also praised her rival by saying that she had defeated some good players enroute to the finals. She said that Tai was in good rhythm, and she had the better of her opponent after studying her strategy.
