Setting aside criticism of the recommendations made by the Dharmana Committee, Primary Education minister S Sailajanath said that the committee has submitted "valuable recommendations" that would "definitely rejuvenate the party and the government as well".
He said there were some more suggestions made by the committee, but that they were not included into the report.
He claimed that there was nothing wrong in suggesting that the Congress must establish a news channel and newspapers of its own.
Talking to media persons on Thursday, Sailajanath said that the Dharmana Committee has received suggestions from all the ministers and senior leaders from all constituencies, before making a final report.
He opined that if the recommendations of the committee are implemented in letter and spirit, the party would definitely come to power again in the general elections of 2014.
Reacting to a question on the opposition's demands for the resignation of Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathi, who has been convicted by the Special Court For Economic Offences in a FERA case, Shailajanath said that there was no need for Pathasarathi to tender his resignation.
Meanwhile, stating that there were no signs of the Centre contemplating the bifurcation of the state, the minister made it clear that no discussions over Telangana have been going on in New Delhi. (INN)
