Minister for Information Technology Ponnala Lakshmiah on Saturday announced that the Planning Commission has given the nod for the state government's proposal for the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) worth Rs. 2,380 crores.
Talking to media persons at the Secretariat on Saturday, Lakshmaiah said that the ITIR will facilitate the uniform spreading of information technology in the GHMC area. And that the proposal would also help build infrastructural and other allied facilities, paving the way for opening more IT companies around the city.
As of now, the international airport, the Outer Ring Road, the P V Narasimha Rao Expressway and the Metro Rail are attracting those abroad to invest in Hyderabad, Lakshmaiah said.
"In addition to these, the said ITIR proposal would spell out new avenues for the investors," the minister claimed.
Lakshmaiah further added that in addition to the existing 2,000 e-seva centres, 3,000 more such centres would be opened in state.
The minister had earlier in the day declared the GGK Technologies IT company at NSL SEZ, Uppal, open. (INN)
