Municipal Administration and IT Minister K T Rama Rao today said that the leaves of all municipal officials for the next two weeks would be cancelled and that they would need plunge into action to repair the roads and cap all the open nalas in the city.
At a high level review meeting, KTR instructed Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar to cancel all the leaves of all the related officials for the next two weeks and press teams to attend to the related works.
KTR also said that an amount of Rs 300 crore had been allocated for the works.
The minister said that several roads had been badly hit by the recent heavy rains, and that since more rains had been forecast, more damage might occur. Keeping the situation in view, immediate repairs needed to be taken up, and about 130 teams would be pressed in immediately to patch up the roads and cap the nalas to ensure smooth rides for the people, he said.
KTR also asked the officials to take up sanitation drives in all the municipalities and districts after the rains reduced.
