RPF Athletic Meet 2010 Begins
A total of 75 athletes from seven divisions of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal, Nanded and Headquarters are participating in the event.

The Inter Divisional RPF Athletic Meet 2010, organized by the Secunderabad Division of the South Central Railways, was inaugurated at the Railway Recreation Club Grounds (RRC), Secunderabad, on Monday.
Secunderabad Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Roy was the chief guest of the opening ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Roy said that the duties of the RPF (Railway Protection Force) have increased manifold during recent years, and that RPF staff undergo a lot of stress.
He said that such sporting events not only help to ease the stress, but also inculcate brotherhood amongst them. Roy complimented the Secunderabad Division for organsing this event.
The opening ceremony was marked by a colourful parade of participating teams, and fireworks and balloons.
Earlier, Secunderabad Division RPF Senior Divisional Security Commisioner A N Sinha welcomed the gathering. Several officers and staff were present on the occasion.

In the inaugural event, in the 800 metre race, Secunderabad Division constable P Ravi emerged the winner, while Vijayawada Division constable Madan stood second.
