Two nightshift employees of a bank in Peddapuram of East Godavari district were mugged early this morning, as they were taking home cash that was meant to be used to pay the employees' salaries. The burglars beat the two up brutally, and made away with Rs. 3.50 lakhs in cash.
Pramila was beaten up with sticks, and broke her arm when she fell down, while Ramana Rao was attacked with knives. The two are recieving treatment at Trust Hospital in Kakinada. The doctors inform that, while Pramila is stable and on her way to recovery, Ramana Rao is in a critical condition.
The police are currently investigating the case, and are speculating that that the muggers could be other employees of the bank who somehow came to know that Pramila and Ramana Rao would be travelling with the cash. It could also be a random case of burglary, and we wouldn't know for sure until further investigation, say the police.
