Mohd. Ibrahim Siddiqui alias Ramesh committed a total of 30 house burglaries, since 2005, and sold stolen gold and silver in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The city police have recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 60 lakh, from the possession of an alleged burglar who was arrested last month.
According to the police, the accused, Mohd. Ibrahim Siddiqui alias Ramesh, committed several robberies in the limits of Hyderabad and Cyberabad.
He committed a total of 30 house burglaries, since 2005, in the limits of Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Panjagutta and Banjara Hills. Ramesh would dispose of stolen gold ornaments in Maharastra and Karnataka.
Finger prints of the accused have been traced in 16 cases of the police stations of Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar and Panjagutta.
Ibrahim was arrested on 26 April, and, later, taken into police custody from 28 April to 2 May. Based on his confession, the police recovered about 2 kilograms of gold and one kilogram of silver ornaments, all worth Rs. 60 lakh, from gold jewellery shops situated in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
