Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today lashed at BRS MLA T Harish Rao for "misleading" the Assembly with "blatant lies".
Giving a strong counter to the remarks made by Rao in the Assembly, the CM said that Rao's speech was full of lies.
"The people gave a mandate against the BRS government and punished it in the public court. Unfortunately the opposition party leader remains unchanged, and is continuing to make false statements," Reddy said.
He alleged that the previous BRS government had sold out the Outer Ring Road for a meagre amount of Rs 7,000 crore, and that the BRS leaders had also swindled crores of rupees in the sheep distribution scheme.
The CM alleged that huge corruption had taken place in the prestigious Bathukamma saree distribution scheme, too.
"Apart from this, the BRS government looted crores of rupees meant for the innocent Kuruma and Yadav communities, and also gave conflicting figures on the expenditure incurred on the Kaleshwaram project. They are now saying Rs 94,000 crore," Reddy said.
"Also, there has been no progress in Palamuru in the last 10 years. Rs 20,000 crore were spent on the Palamuru project, but it has still not been completed. And Rangareddy district has been neglected and turned into a desert - costly lands in the district were sold out but there is still no irrigation facility in the district," he added.
The Chief Minister also said that the opposition leader was speaking out only against debts and had suppressed the details of the sale of lands worth crores of rupees by the last government, and said that he was ready to make public the statistical data of the lands sold.
Reddy also said that the claim of the BRS government that it had fought against the Union government over the installation of electric metres for agriculture pumpsets was ridiculous.
"The BRS MLA is suppressing facts to cover up his government's mistakes in the House. The previous BRS government had signed an agreement on January 4, 2017, to fix metres at distribution transformers within six months. Officials Ajay Mishra, Raghuma Reddy and A Gopal Rao signed the agreement. Former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao had entered an agreement with the Modi government to fix the metres within six months. Harish Rao should go through the agreement before making false statements in the Assembly," Reddy said.
