Revanth Reddy Petitions HC for Additional Security

The Telangana Congress leader claimed he was facing threats to his life from his rivals and also from some anti-social elements, and that the state government wasn't bothered.
Hyderabad | 24th October 2018
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Revanth Reddy approached the Hyderabad High Court today seeking additional security, saying that he was facing threats to his life from his political rivals and also from certain anti-social elements.

He pointed out in his petition that the state government had not responded to his request for security. He appealed to the court to direct the government to give him security cover from either the personnel of the union government or some independent agency.

The Kodangal MLA mentioned the Union Home Secretary, the Telangana Chief Secretary, the Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Telangana, the Chief Election Commissioner, the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana, the DGP and the Vikarabad SP as defendants.

The court directed the Union government and the Election Commission to respond to the petition of Reddy and posted the matter for Thursday.
