Restrict Ganesh Idols Height To 15 Feet: High Court

The Hyderabad High Court directed the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee to ensure that the height of the Ganesh idols is restricted to 15 feet.

The Hyderabad High Court today directed the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee to ensure that the height of the Ganesh idols to be created for this year's Ganesh Chaturthi is restricted to 15 feet.

Taking up a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition on the height of the Ganesh idols and the environmental problems associated with them, the High Court sought information on the action the State government is willing to take.

The court also directed the authorities concerned to make special arrangements for disposing of the pooja materials including prasadam and other products generated during the procession.
