TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao demanded on Tuesday that the Centre remove all the conditions they have put forward in the Telangana Bill which he says is "unfavourable" to the interests of this region.
KCR specifically objected to the proposal that the Governor will be given control of some of the departments, the non-repatriation of 83,000 government employees who were "illegally recruited", ensuring employees are distributed in exact proportion to their population, and the Rs. 5,000 crore that the new government will have to spend on pensioners.
The TRS chief also voiced his views against the continuing power purchase agreements with private agencies, which he opined would result in the draining of the Telangana exchequer.
He added that the party is grateful to Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi, due to whom the "formation of Telangana became possible".
"We will think about how to repay the debt," he remarked.
Speaking about issues that the TRS is opposed to, KCR questioned, "Why should there be Governor's rule on our heads? Are Telangana people useless? Can't we deliver the goods? Can't we rule? Why must there be one rule for 28 states and another for Telangana?"
The TRS leader threatened to launch "another agitation to secure Telangana its rightful share of funds, irrigation water, employment and other sectors", and urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to ensure that the demands of the people of Telangana are met, without any hassles.
"We are not opposing what is given to the people of Andhra. Let them give 1 lakh crore more. But what will they give us?" he said.
He asked the Telangana government employees to organise a round table conference, and to submit a memorandum to the PM.
"There are several issues which I don't want to take up. However 4 issues are dangerous and can cause immense damage to Telangana. We will be permanently under economic pressure," he said.
He also voiced concern over the power crisis that Telangana would face.
He also questioned the need for huge expenditure and the need to purchase power from private suppliers belonging to the Andhra region at a rate of Rs. 11/unit, while supplying power from the region at Rs. 2.40/unit.
