The Telugu Desam Party on Sunday threatened to launch an agitation if the state government fails to supply adequate drinking water to the Warangal district.
The Telugu Desam Party on Sunday threatened to launch an agitation if the state government fails to supply adequate drinking water to the Warangal district.
Talking to reporters after meeting the Information Technology Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, TDP senior leader and former minister Kadiam Srihari alleged that Warangal district was being short-changed in terms of releasing water from the Sriram Sagar Project. He said "Of 10 TMC, only 2 TMC of water was released to the Warangal. Besides facing a scarcity of drinking water, the farmers have been suffering due to an inadequate amount of water for irrigation."
The TDP leader threatened that his party would launch a massive agitation if the government fails to release an adequate amount of water to the district. (INN)
