Ram Gopal Varma continues to string along controversies about his films.
His upcoming film on Vijayawada faction wars, titled "Bejawada Rowdilu", has been in trouble for some time now. When the flick's shooting was first started in Vijayawada in May this year, Varma was approached by a committee from the town, who demanded that he change the title of his movie immediately. The protestors said the title portrayed Vijayawada in a bad light.
Now, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal is said to have been approached to convince Ram Gopal Varma to change the title. The MP, who is known to be close friend of Varma, today told a TV channel that he was confident that RGV would change the title.
He said that while he understands the fact that Ram Gopal Varma (who grew up in Vijayawada) loves the region, he (Lagadapati), as an MP, has a responsibility towards the people there. He said RGV would definitely remove either the "Bejawada" or the "Rowdilu" from the name of his upcoming movie.
Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma is known to be generally irreverent towards public opinion, and getting him to change anything about his work looks like a distant possibility as of now.
