As many as 8 candidates filed nomination papers for the 6 Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
They include 2 "rebel candidates" of the Congress party.
T Subbirami Reddy, K V P Ramachandra Rao and M A Khan filed their papers as the official candidates of Congress party.
Similarly, the TDP candidates Garikapati Mohan Rao and Sitarama Lakshmi also submitted their nominations to Legislature secretary S Raja Sadaram.
TRS secretary general K Keshava Rao also filed his papers on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Congress MLC K V Satyanarayana Raju alias Chaitanya Raju and MLA Adala Prabhakar Reddy too filed their papers as party rebels for the biennial elections scheduled to be held on February 7.
Though there were rumours that former minister J C Diwakar Reddy might enter the fray too, he decided against contesting the elections. (INN)
