A red alert has been sounded in seven districts for the two days as heavy rains are likely to occur - Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Nalgonda.
The met officials said that heavy to very heavy rainfall was likely in Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal and Narayanpet districts. The districts that will receive heavy rains are Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Suryapet.
Similarly, an orange alert has been issued for Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Siddipet, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy and Nagarkurnool districts.
Strong winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph are also likely to prevail in the State.
Officials have advised people to be vigilant due to the extreme weather conditions expected.
Meanwhile, the highest rainfall of 13 cm was recorded in Narayanpet in the last few hours.
