Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas on Friday called upon the party workers and leaders to get involved, and to extend constructive support to redress public grievances in the 'Rachchabanda' program, which will begin on Saturday.
The PCC Chief stated that the 'Rachchabanda' program had been evolved by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to take the administration to the doorsteps of the people, and to redress their grievances on the spot thereby instilling confidence among them.
Srinivas pointed out that the program was aimed at monitoring the implementation of various welfare and developmental programs at the Gram Panchayat level. He also appreciated the measures taken by the Chief Minister including the provision of Rs. 1,200 crore of the Rs. 2,600 crore that would be incurred during the conduction of the program.
As the Rachchabanda program intends to cover 18 lakh beneficiaries and over 6 lakh self help groups, this would help the needy people get speedy solutions to their problems, he added.
The PCC Chief informed that all the Presidents of the district Congress committees and city Congress committees would be organising press conferences on Saturday at 12:00pm, throughout the State, to highlight the details of the benefits to the people in their districts.
Srinivas stated that the 'Rachchabanda' programme would basically reaching out to the poorer and weaker sections by solving the issues of ration cards, pensions, housing, pavala vaddi, YSR abhaya hastam, arogyasri and Mahatma Gandhi national rural employment scheme.
He asked the party leaders and workers to percolate the message of the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi, and to ensure that the benefits reach the people through the program sponsored by the State and the Union governments.
