According to media reports, Sathya Sai Baba's last rites will be held between 9am and 10am on Wednesday morning. Sources close to Baba's family said that his burial will be done conforming to Hindu rituals.
The sources also said that Sathya Sai Baba's body will be lowered into a "Maha Samadhi" at the Sai Kulwanth Hall in Prashanthi Nilayam.
Sathya Sai Baba's Samadhi (shrine) will be constructed at the very site where Baba used to interact with his devotees, and will be made public (for darshan) at 12pm on Wednesday.
Devotees and luminaries have been pouring into Puttaparthi from all over the world since Sathya Sai Baba's demise on Sunday morning. Some of the VIPs who are reported to have visited the town on Tuesday for the last darshan of Baba's mortal remains are former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, VHP General Secretary Praveen Togadia and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Collector Janardhan Reddy has stated that arrangements have been made in Puttaparthi to ensure that devotees don't face any problems, and informed that drinking water facilities have also been set up.
