A Telugu TV Channel sports Editor J Srinivasulu, 55, died of massive cardiac arrest in the early hours of Sunday. He was survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
He was popularly known as "Jessy" and worked as a sports journalist with Andhra Jyothy, Vaarta, Sakshi and several other Telugu newspapers. He was a native of Mahbubnagar and received several State and national awards for his services as a sports journalist.
Sakshi staff and sports journalists working with various newspapers, and several of his colleagues paid final tributes to the mortal remains at his residence in Habsiguda.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, too, expressed shock over Srinivas' passing. The Chief Minister said that besides being a role model to many journalists, Jessy had also motivated several young and aspiring sportspersons.
The CM convened his sympathies to the members of the bereaved family. On behalf of KCR, his official placed a wreath on Jessy's body.
Members of the Press Club, Somajiguda and several journalists conveyed their condolences to Srinivasulu's kin.
