Former State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) Chairman Gone Prakash Rao on Sunday predicted that President's rule would be imposed in the state by May, since "the government has failed in resolving the problems of the people and restoring normalcy in administration, on more than one occasion."
Talking to mediapersons at former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's office in Jubilee Hills, the MP's staunch loyalist alleged that both the ruling and opposition parties have totally failed in discharging their responsibilities.
He predicted that President's rule will be imposed in the state by May this year.
Prakash Rao further alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has hatched a conspiracy to end the political career of Jaganmohan Reddy.
"This conspiracy is bound to fail," he said, and added that, "Jaganmohan Reddy has a massive following among the people who will give a fitting lesson to the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the next elections." People will definitely back the newly-launched YSR Congress party, the senior leader stated.
Demanding that the High Command take a clear stand on Telangana statehood demand, Prakash Rao stated that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, senior Congress leader and MP K Kesava Rao, and Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Jaipal Reddy should shoulder the responsibility of getting the Centre to take a decision on Telangana.
The former RTC chairman also appealed to political leaders of various outfits spearheading the separate statehood agitations to keep students away from the protests. "It is not proper to play with the careers of the students in the name of statehood agitation," he stated.
