Governor E S L Narasimhan, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, former chief minister K Rosaiah, ministers and other officials on Friday gave a warm send off to president Prathibha Patil, who left for New Delhi after her week-long sojourn to the state.
The president, along with her husband Devisingh Ransingh Shekhawat, left for New Delhi in a special plane from Begumpet airport at 9am.
The president had arrived for a week-long winter sojourn to the city last Friday. She had stayed at the Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bollarum during her visit, and participated in the various cultural programs in the city. She had also
inaugurated a herbal garden in the premises of the Rashtrapati Nilayam.
During the 7-day visit, Patil graced the
Second International Kuchipudi Dance Convention held at the GMC Balayogi Stadium at Gachibowli, and also the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the National Institute of Rural Development in the city.
Legislative council chairman A Chakrapani, deputy speaker Nadendla Manohar, minister D K Aruna, mayor B Karthika Reddy and other officials were also present to bid farewell for Patil.
