President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil arrived in the city on Sunday afternoon, for a 10-day stay at the Rashtrapati Nilayam.
The President reached Hyderabad in a special flight, at about 12.05pm.
She was received at the Begumpet Airport by Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajnarasimhan, Legislative Council chairman Dr A Chakrapani, and other ministers and senior officials.
She was given a ceremonial reception at the airport.
Amidst tight police security, Pratibha Patil directly proceeded to the Rashtrapati Nilayam, where she will stay till 4 January.
She is likely to attend some official events during her stay. She will also visit Sriharikota in Nellore on 2 January. (INN)
