YSR Congress leader Sharmila opined that the state is facing a power crisis simply because of negligence on part of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Speaking to a group of women at an impromptu interaction at Chinna Kadaburu in Kurnool district during her "Maro Praja Prasthanam" padayatra on Thursday, Sharmila said that the Congress government lacked the sort of vision displayed by YSR in anticipating problems. "There were no power problems when YSR was in power," she claimed, adding that people are being burdened with new taxes and additional power bills now.
Asking people to wait patiently for the return of Rajanna Rajyam, Sharmila said that 20 lakh pucca houses had been built during YSR's regime in AP alone, while 45 lakh houses were built in the entire India. "When it comes to power, YSR Congress will ensure that pucca houses are built for the shelterless," she assured them.
Women complained to Sharmila they are not getting monthly pensions regularly and are being forced to pay interest though the loans were meant to be interest-free. "Wait for the good days of Rajanna Rajyam wherein we will be able to solve your problems," she told them, adding that the present government had no helping nature.
She also assured the women that YSRCP, after assuming power under the leadership of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, would also implement the 'Amma Odi' scheme for enabling children go to school. "Under the programme, two kids can pursue their education and money will be directly deposited in the bank accounts of mothers," Sharmila told them. (INN)
