Congress youth leader Vikram Goud, who came out from jail on a conditional bail after being arrested for claiming to have been shot when he himself had allegedly arranged for the firing, said today that the police version was completely wrong.
"The police claim that I had arranged for the shooting at a cost of Rs. 50 lakhs to escape from my creditors. If I was so seriously in debt, how would I be able to pay someone Rs. 50 lakhs?" he asked.
He also said that his father (ex-minister Mukesh Goud) had enormous goodwill, and he did not need to undertake such a serious risk to garner more. He said that a bullet had actually lodged itself so close to his spine that the doctors chose not to remove it, and he would not take a risk like that.
He said that it was he who provided some leads to the shooters. He also said that he had no Telangana weapon license, and that he had got his weapon license from Odisha.
